The platform you choose shapes how quickly you can launch, what it costs to run and how easily you can grow. Here is how we think about the three main options.
Shopify
Best for most product brands that want to launch quickly and avoid managing servers. Hosting, security and checkout are handled for you, and a large app ecosystem covers most needs. The trade-off is monthly fees and less control over some parts of the checkout.
WooCommerce
A flexible option built on WordPress. It suits businesses that already use WordPress, publish a lot of content, or need custom product logic. It requires good hosting and regular maintenance.
Custom builds
The right choice when your requirements do not fit a standard store: complex pricing, marketplaces, B2B ordering or deep integrations with internal systems. It costs more upfront but gives complete control.
Our advice
Start with your products, order volume, target countries and team. The platform should follow the business model, not the other way round.
